HSEQ
Health Safety, Environment and Quality
Statement of Policy
The prime foundation of the Rubicon is incident-free and cost-efficient production of offshore oil and gas. Rubicon is committed to conducting operations in a manner in which the safety and health of all of our personnel is ensured with minimal impact to the environment. Rubicon is committed to comply with all national and international statutory and regulatory legislation or codes which apply to the Company's scope of operations.
Rubicon has developed a detailed Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) management system to aid in this effort. Rubicon employees, subcontractors and other personnel on Rubicon facilities are all required to operate within the Rubicon HSEQ Management System (HSEQMS) to protect themselves, others, the environment and Group property.
The Group's COO has ultimate accountability for the implementation and execution of this Policy. The Group's management has responsibility for ensuring that the HSEQMS is followed. All individuals on Rubicon facilities are obliged to take responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of their co-workers. All personnel have the obligation to stop work if it is deemed unsafe, or if they believe that work scope hazards are not being adequately identified and mitigated or other Rubicon HSEQMS procedures are not being followed.
To achieve this Policy, we:
-
Maintain a Group Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Management System (HSEQMS) that describes how we implement this Policy, provides standards of performance measurement and the means by which we verify our effectiveness
-
Provide the resources and training required for our colleagues to achieve this goal
-
Regularly review our effectiveness, as well as identify and implement continuous improvements to our systems and procedures
-
Ensure that a transparent incident reporting and investigation culture is maintained to promote an objective review of all incidents in order to minimize the likelihood of recurrence and to identify process improvement opportunities
-
Provide personnel protection equipment
-
Provide facilities which have been designed to reduce hazards as far as is reasonably possible
-
Restrict the use of possible spark emitting devices such as cameras, tablets and mobile phones to the accommodation block
The oil and gas industry, whether offshore or onshore in the shipyard, is a hazardous place to work. It is Rubicon's objective to make this as safe as possible in order to provide a future for all.
