Vessel Info:
Crystal Ocean was a purpose-built dynamically positioned floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel with a hydrocarbon production facility designed primarily for well testing, where it can eliminate flaring and recover crude oil from testing and well clean-up operations. The vessel's hydrocarbon processing system is configured for maximum operational flexibility.
This ship is fully equipped for FPSO service, being able to receive well fluids, separate and stabilise the produced crude, and store the stabilised crude in the FPSO's cargo tanks. Gas injection facilities are included for reinjection of separated gas, whilst produced water can be treated for removal of residual oil prior to discharge.
The vessel was in operation in DP mode. However, it is designed to also operate in active weather-vaning mode via an internal moon-pool and disconnectable turret mooring with fluid transfer system (currently removed but may be re-instated).
